Dr. Mirela Krasniqi is a fellowship-trained Glaucoma and Anterior Segment surgeon (cornea and cataract). She graduated summa cum laude from St. Francis College with a Bachelor degree in Chemistry, and also earned a Master of Science in Teaching from Pace University. Dr. Krasniqi received her medical degree from the University at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences followed by residency at Summa Health System/Northeast Ohio Medical University. Dr. Krasniqi furthered her subspecialty training in Anterior Segment and Glaucoma at Tulane University where she trained in traditional glaucoma surgery as well as the latest minimally invasive treatment options. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Krasniqi is on staff at The Eye Surgery Center, Hartford Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.
Dr. Krasniqi is fluent in Albanian and Italian, and conversational in Spanish. She lives in the greater Hartford area with her husband and son.
